Commercial Finance Manager - Value Add Role in Logistics Industry

Are you looking for an autonomous Commercial Finance Manager role where you have full responsibility for the finance function as well as be able to offer commercial advice?

We are a successful and growing transport & logistics company. We come into work, have fun and get the job done. We are seeking someone who can take full ownership of the accounting function who is not afraid to get stuck in and does not need to be managed. In depth knowledge of clearing accounts, tax requirements, depreciation schedules, asset management, employee entitlements, prepayment schedules and accruals will be beneficial.

Key duties:
  • Full responsibility for the P&L: you will generate the P&L and create financial costing models around the P&L accordingly.
  • Managing a small team of accounting support.
  • Management of the AP/AR function and complete control of the business cash flow.
  • Financial reporting and production of board presentations.
  • Responding to tenders and advising on the commercials.
  • Margin & Variance analysis: signing off on pricing.
Autonomy

You will be responsible for a small team who will assist you in administrative aspects of the finance function. You will manage all of the AP & AR function and report directly to the General Manager. You will generate a P&L and have experience in financial modelling around various indirect costs.

You will be a technically strong accountant showing drive for results by assuming responsibility for the performance and correctness of your interventions. You will pride yourself in recognising opportunities and acting efficiently at the appropriate moment within set guidelines and be willing to go the extra mile to perform to your best.

Challenging Problems

You will enjoy solving challenging problems. The General manager will give you his full backing and expect you to analyse procedures, set up objectives and act proactively to improve end to end processes in the team.

Strategic Challenge

You will enjoy exceeding expectations when dealing with information. Your commercial and analytical skills will add value to the business while your ability to understand information will allow you to understand existing procedures & instructions. You'll be looking at margin analysis and signing off on pricing so will need an acute understanding of the business.
